Theme of Violence
Violence in Animal Farm is a tool of political oppression. Not only do we see actual violence used to kill and to exile enemies of the leadership, but equally important is the threat of violence. If any animal rebels or questions the pigs’ leadership, he or she can expect to face violence as a punishment.
What are the different kinds of violence we see? What are the tools of violence, and who is fighting whom here? Do the answers to these questions evolve over the course of the story?
We see violence in the form of John and his whip or Napoleon ordering his dogs to kill animals. Some of the tools are the dogs and the whip. It involves John and animals and napoleon vs the animals.
How is it that Napoleon executes such extremes of violence, and still has the other animals convinced he's a good guy?
He gives them plenty of lies and keeps them in control with fear.
The progression of violence from battles between the animals and the humans to abuse within Animal Farm itself is the most significant outcome of the pigs’ corruption. Do you agree or disagree? Why?
No, because the battles between the humans and animals have nothing to do with pigs. The animals felt abused by the humans and that is what started the wars. The pigs are replacing the humans in abusing the other animals.
Quote
"He is dead," said Boxer sorrowfully. "I had no intention of doing that. I forgot that I was wearing iron shoes. Who will believe that I did not do this on purpose?" (4.10) Why is this quote important to the theme of Violence?
This quote is important to the theme of violence because it is a form of violence the pig use to show that no one will believe the other animal. They will obey the pigs and their order because they are the leader and in charge.

Theme of Pride
In Animal Farm, pride serves to unite the animals as a common group; in this way it is something akin to camaraderie. The animals take pride in banding together to overthrow their oppressive leader, and their communal feeling benefits everyone. Yet Napoleon, himself an extremely vain pig, quickly learns how to use the animals’ pride as a tool of manipulation. They are also so proud of their animal-run farm that they are blind to the fact that it is failing and corrupt.
Is pride beneficial or harmful to the animals? For the pigs? For the humans?
Pride is harmful toward the animals as for the pigs and humans, pride is beneficial because they show who is in charge and who has power over the others.
What do the pigs feel proud of as compared to what the other animals feel proud of?
The pigs feel proud of being the leader and having the power over the other animals compared to the other animals where they work as they are told and they believe they are doing the best they can.
Quote
“There was enthusiastic cheering and stamping of feet. Napoleon was so gratified that he left his place and came round the table to clink his mug against Mr. Pilkington's before emptying it.” (10.28)
How and why is this quote important to the theme of pride?
While the pigs’ pride initially lay in besting the humans, Napoleon ultimately takes pride in gaining the approval of the humans with whom he once competed.

WINdmill project
If the world was using wind power instead of fossil fuel
and nuclear power plants, the world would be in better shape.
Wind power is the result of using the wind to generate
electricity. There are many different methods of producing
electricity, including burning coal and other fossil fuels. Yet
most of these ways hurt the environment by polluting the air and
water, and releasing dangerous gases into the Earth's
atmosphere. Wind power does not have these effects, which is
why we call it a clean, Earth-friendly energy source.Unlike
fossil fuels and nuclear power plants, wind projects have
absolutely no adverse environmental impact associated with fuel
development and transportation of waste disposal.
How does a wind turbine work one may ask? If the wind
is blowing hard enough, starting at 7 mph, the blades of a
wind turbine will spin. The blades are connected to a drive
shaft located in the nacelle, or the box on the top of the
tower. As the blades turn, the drive shaft turns and produces
electricity. The electricity flows down the tower and into a
transformer located outside the turbine. Inside the transformer,
the electricity from the turbine is converted to a voltage
that we can use for power. The power flows to the project's
substation and then into a large power grid. From here, the
wind generated electricity is sent through utility lines to
its final destination.
Electricity generated by wind turbines typically
costs around 5 cents per kWh. This is competitive with
traditional sources of electrical generation and is the
cheapest renewable energy source. Considering factors such as
the rising cost of fossil fuels, the cost of pollution
including greenhouse gasses, and the cost of site rehabilitation
when a power plant closes, the cost of wind power is
competitive with, and may actually be less than, fossil fuels.
After a wind turbine is purchased and installed, the operating
costs are minimal and the fuel is free.
